Egomaniacs

This year for the A to Z Challenge I have decided to get a little personal with my loyal readers. During this years A to Z I am going to explore 26 of my many pet peeves. I hate almost everything so filling the alphabet will be a breeze. Today is E so I think we will discuss Egomaniacs.

I can't stand a know it all. Some jackass that is so arrogant as to believe that there is nothing of value that he or she could possibly learn from you, and you can just tell that they don't even listen when you're talking. They're just waiting until it's their turn to speak again. I also hate it when someone has to be the best and is constantly trying to one up you on everything to a ridiculous extent. Everything that you do, and every story that you tell they do it better and have an even better story. Or even worse just continue to have their own separate discussion like your words arent even worth acknowledging.
These people usually share a similar trait and that trait is that they are in love with themselves. They are the most important person in the world ever and we are all background in the story of their life playing out for all of our entertainment.
Egomaniacal behaviour is obnoxious and offensive to me on many levels. One, your Kayne West's of the world look at everyone else as a lesser being in the presence of a God. They have self ordained themselves the patron saint of the church of their ego and it's so clear they think that they are such a gift to humanity that just living their lives is saintly. That behaviour makes me sick, and I cannot stand that we as a society not only support it but help it thrive. It's disgusting.

  2. I know what you mean. I had friends like this. I have since dropped them. I would meet up with them and if I was talking they would be looking around, checking their phone or interrupting me. It really makes you feel crappy and uninteresting.
