The fear of home
This one is really odd unless your house is just a terrible place like the ones in after school or Lifetime channel movies. If it is, that sucks and I am very sorry. If you want to, go ahead and stick around because I'm gonna poke fun at being afraid of home for just a little bit.
The place that I feel the most comfortable on Earth to some people is a scary thing. The same place I sit on the couch and eat cupcakes in my underwear while I write blissfully relaxed and comfortable is scary to some. This one blew me away so much because I just couldn't get it.
All that made sense to me was that after school special or Lifetime movie stuff I was joking about earlier being the reason for this fear. If that is it, I get it. Having a real life monster at home is a scary thing. Since I'm betting that those reasons have got to be the reasons for this fear existing since nothing else really makes sense it's hard to make light of it. That is unless they have mice in their house because I am scared of mice too and that is funny.

Who wouldn't love the place where they can sit in their underwear and eat cupcakes?
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten the chance to catch up here until today, but I've enjoyed all your posts so far. I would say "who knew there were this many odd fears?" but I'm sure there are 100x more out there, even more strange.
There really are a lot
DeleteIt would be terrible to be afraid of your own home. My home is my place of comfort and happiness. It's a place to get away from all the bad things. Well, that and the beach…

Yeah, I can't imagine being scared of my home.
DeleteHate I can imagine. Fear, not so much. Although I haven't seen Oculus yet.

That is a strange one indeed. Home is such a great concept to many but certain circumstances can create an unfavorable existence.

Ya, I can see that. It's sad.
DeleteThis phobia is new to me. Home should be a happy safe haven, not the opposite. Like the comments above mine, certain circumstances can be the reason.

Yep, thats all I could come up with.
DeleteI haven't heard of this one... if anything, I'm agoraphobic! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. I like being at home a lot.
DeleteI have a little of this fear, but then again I live in a cemetery, so maybe it's justified.
ReplyDeleteI can see how that might be a little creepy
