Hedonophobia

The fear of feeling pleasure...

I can just not remember the last time I ever even slightly dreaded feeling pleasure.  I can't even begin to imagine something pleasurable ever even being scary at all.  Which is really good for me because feeling pleasure has got to be one of my very favorite things.  But, for some people with hedonophobia, just the thought that something was going to feel really good would be scarier than 50 spiders.
See, I have the opposite problem.  If something makes me feel good, or even just tastes really good, I wasn't as much of it as often as I can get get it.  I have always been that way.  That's why I'm chubby, have poor credit, and am divorced.  If something feels good I just get lost in it.  Then I develop Boraphobia, and I become terrified of whatever that it is that is making me feel amazing ever ending and having to go back to not feeling awesome anymore.
A hedonaphobe though, Is terrified that his steak will be perfect, or that someone might brush his willy, and he'll enjoy himself.  I do not understand what is scary about feeling good but, I am not a hedonophobe.  A hedonophobe would totally understand.

    1. I'd never hate feeling good. Maybe feeling bad, but not ever would I give up feeling good.

  2. I understand a bit of fear of success since I'm not much into the limelight, but yeah, fear of pleasure? Crazy. Maybe and S&M thing?

  8. That is definitely a different one. Hmmm... can't think of anyone with such and probably a good thing. So much can bring pleasure, it would make things difficult.

    1. Very difficult. I think I'd just have to be terrified and feeling good instead of calm and feeling nothing.

  11. This is one of the weirder phobias you've shared. Maybe hedenophobia explains some of the pessimists I've met...
